Happy Holidays

College Republicans,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for a wonderful Fall 2009 semester. Our discussions and events brought us closer together as a club, made us stronger Republicans, and have prepared us for an exciting Spring 2009 semester.

I look forward to the new year for a number of reasons: our upcoming visit from former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani, our February trip to Washington, D.C., and our continued participation in intramural sports. Not to mention Florida State’s bowl game on January 1.

I wish you all the happiest of holidays, a Merry Christmas, and wonderful time with your friends and family. I hope to see all of you at our first meeting of the Spring semester on January 7th at 6:30pm (early so we won’t miss the BCS National Championship Game)!

Sincerely,

John Morris

Welcome, New Freshmen

A letter from Chairman John Morris

To the Freshman Class,

Congratulations on your acceptance to The Florida State University! While our university is most frequently noted for its academic and athletic achievements, it also has a rich history of political action — a history which is dominated by this organization, the College Republicans.

It was a great pleasure to meet many of you during this summer’s orientation events. For many years, Florida State’s Freshman classes have infused our organization with new life and new ideas — all because of dedicated people like you.

As a first-time college student, it is easy to become overwhelmed by the breadth of activities available at Florida State. The College Republicans offer an excellent opportunity to meet new friends, all like-minded and grounded in their conservative values. You will also have a remarkable opportunity to become involved in local, state, and national politics through participation in campaigns and other political activities.

Through my own involvement in College Republicans, I have enjoyed experiences that I would never have thought possible otherwise. The friendships and memories that I have created will last a lifetime. This organization has opened the door to endless possibilities for me, and I am sure that it will do the same for you.

You are now a Seminole because our university saw something special in you. I hope that you will share your uniqueness with the College Republicans throughout the next four years, as you work to make your college experience a rich one with memories you will not forget.

Congratulations on your acceptance to our fine institution, and I look forward to meeting you in August.

Sincerely,

John Morris
Chairman, College Republicans
The Florida State University
